Another rebirth film????

Eros released the trailer of Teri Meri Kahani - that film with exes Priyanka and Shahid. And it better not be another one of those rebirth films!! We have enough with Dangerous Ishq in June and if this is another one, the whole summer will be ruined!
Of course, this film looks cuter. But so did Mausam and we all know what happened when that released. Shahid does look good - ugly teeth and all.
And PC and Shahid look good together - too bad he couldn't get over his compulsive desire to control her and too bad she couldn't get over her obsession fro SRK. Here's the trailer.

Paid to show up

UTV sure knows how to create buy hype over a film that may or may not generate interest.
After the news that people were paid to show love and support to Anil Kapoor's buddy Tom Cruise on his visit to India for MI4, UTV decided they wanted to use that gimmick somewhere.
And they had the opportunity to use it at the trailer launch for Rowdy Rathore.
Turns out scores of people were paid Rs 200 to come out, cheer Akshay and Sonakshi and basically show support for the next Dabanng Rowdy Rathore.
Sonakshi is only one film old but its sad that people have to be paid such a paltry sum to show up for Akshay. He better have a hit with this one or he's going to have to join Bachchan Jr's boat very soon!

The paid crowd

Department poster revealed

Bachchan Sr posted the first poster of his upcoming Department with RGV on Twitter a little while ago - 

Bachchan Sr has his usual look going on, Rana is ready to pounce and Sanjay Dutt looks normal after his Kancha role in Agneepath. It looks like a leaf out of the Sarkar series. Thankfully RGV  left the other Bachchans out of this one!

Dangerous Ishhq trailer released

And so along with Karishma's first look from Dangerous Ishq, Reliance released the trailer for the film as well.
The dialogues are TERRIBLE - they couldn't be any worse.
This looks like a mix of movies like Bees Saal Baad, Suryavansham, Om Shanti Om and god knows what else! Better call McDonalds stat and get on a contract with them to launch more happy meals!!

Saifu stays in the news

So Saifu's Agent Vinod came and went and after all that publicity and drama, it flopped.
Its still making news though - for things like copyright violation and the fact that producers had to pay loyalties for using older songs in the film as they thought they could get away before and then almost crapped their pants and dished out the moolah when they got sued after.


Saifu and Kareena's nuptials have also been put on hold until early 2013 as Saifu tries to gather funds for the big wedding - now that Agent Vinod sank, he's gotta figure out how he's going to pay for the big fat Bollywood wedding. Hopefully he's abandoned the idea of converting Agent Vinod into a franchise.


Anyways, Saifu also wants his little sister Soha to tie the knot before he settles down - her career is worse than his so makes sense for him to be worried.
Kareena's just going to have to wait to become the next Begum of Pataudi!

Dangerous Ishq

Vikram Bhatt and team revealed the first look of Karishma Kapoor in Dangerous Ishq - looks like a mix of Angelina Jolie and Carrie in Sex and the City -2 anyone else see the resemblances?
If this doesn't work she can go back to special appearances in movies or launching Happy Meals at McDonalds.

I thought India's obsession with fair skin was bad until I saw this. Just takes it to another level altogether. Sheesh! When will this madness end?

(Slowly) getting back to work

Now that all her film projects are on hold until she gets back to an acceptable size (lets face it people - Bollywood doesn't have room for fat heroines unless they do The Dirty Picture), Aish is taking up work that requires her to be present, smile and look pretty.
And so she flew to Dubai to make a presence at the 2012 World Cup event. She attended as the ambassador of elegance for Longines and presented an award to the most elegantly dressed woman Carolyn Coe.Pictures follow - 

Aish in a Sabyasachi and open toed flats - she needs the loose clothing to cover that pregnancy flab. And the swelling in her feet mustn't have gone down so none of her shoes probably fit her

Rowdy Rathore trailer release

UTV released the trailer of Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha's Rowdy Rathore after it was "mysteriously" leaked (yea, good try but this is an old trick. At least you could have come up with something more creative, UTV!!)
Akshay looks like a mix of Prabhudeva, Rajnikant and Salman Khan (from Dabanng) and Sonakshi continues to play her usual character from Dabanng - she is so going to be typecast!! Take a look -

The Bachchans sent out a box of sweets to officially announce the birth of their latest addition.I am so confused - 
Wasn't she born like MONTHs ago??
Even now, no name on the fricking announcement?
What the hell was the purpose of this other than to keep them in the news? Did they think the media was sleeping when the child was born and that they missed the event????

SRK vs Salman yet again

Mukesh Ambani organized a glitzy party for Sachin last week and a week later, tales from that party continue to make news for some reason.
SRK was absent from that event coz he was shooting for his next mushfest with Katrina in London - what's weirder though is that Gauri skipped on the event as well. There's been all kinds of stories about her having a fallout with her besties Mehr and Suzanne. 


Anyways, the big story for the evening was that Salman "Steroid' Khan and ex-Aish were in the same room without any awkwardness. And Salman never failing to make use of any opportunity to make news worth comments took a nice little dig at SRK when he complimented Sachin - 
Sachin ke record todna mushkil hi nahin namumkin hai...aur ye Don nahin main bol raha hoon. Aur bol bhi sakta hoon kyonki mera father (Salim Khan) ne likhi hai ye picture. Rights toh unhi ke paas ahin. Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) ne ki thi ye picture.


I am sure Abhishek was thrilled on hearing him mention his dad (although he was pretty mature and even clapped when Salman finished praising Sachin)
SRK of course declined to comment on Salman's dig. At the end of the day, a simple Dabanng was more loved than the over-the-top terrible Ra.One.

Unveiling the walk of fame

The much talked about (UTV) Bollywood Walk of Fame was kicked off by the unveiling of Raj Kapoor's statue and the tiles for the Kapoor clan. 
Ms "I can do it all" Kareena unveiled her grandfather's statue along with daddy Randhir Kapoor. And of course, this being a UTV event Madhur tagged along (see what I said earlier about keeping his damn film in the news??) to unveil the tiles that will be placed on the walk. Great timing UTV and Madhur!!
They unveiled the tiles for the Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Sunil and Nargis Dutt.


So a few glaring things here - 
Why weren't any of the other Kapoors present? What did Rishi and Ranbir have to do that was so important? Couldn't Ranbir put off a smush session?
And why didn't Sunil or any of the Dutts actually unveil the Dutt tiles?? Wouldn't it make more sense?? UTV didn't pay him enough to make an appearance??

Madhur Bhandarkar is doing everything possible to keep his troubled Heroine in the news. Gotta keep the hype going!


Kareena mus have him by the neck coz he announced recently that he's planned for an item number on Kareena for his film called "Halkat Jawaani". There is no way Madhur did not see Kareena's TERRIBLE mujra in Agent Vinod. The only other explanation is Kareena wanting to do more item numbers and pushing this want onto poor Madhur who not wanting to screw over his beloved project is bending backwards and all over to fulfill Kareena's  insane demands. The woman can't dance - someone needs to knock it into her! Her acting is better than her dancing - thats how bad her dancing is!! 


So get set for Ms Kareena "I can do it all" Kapoor herself showing off her "Halkat Jawaani" in the next little while. Look at how comfortable she looks in the picture above - what a pleasure it is going to be to watch her attempt to dance!

Speaking of Salman....

Remember Angela Johnson? She was in the news for being a Kingfisher model and then catching Ranbir Kapoor's attention (he's always on the prowl for fresh meat). Her relationship with Ranbir fizzled (he gets bored real soon, Deepika will tell you that) and she was back to being a nobody. 


So Salman Khan at the time rose to her rescue (notice how he always seems to do this with hot women half his age?) and said he was going to launch her in one of his films (Sher Khan) - someone's gotta fill in Katrina's seat now that she's flown to better things. 


Anyways, that might be off the table now coz Angela went ahead and did a commercial for Coke with South actor Mahesh Babu! Ahh, the audacity to make her own decisions! Unheard of!
Salman is ticked off that she did the ad coz he wanted her out of the media until the film's promos and marketing.
And this defeats his purpose. Maybe Angela should've talked to Mr Oberoi before if she wanted Salman on her side. Or perhaps she got tired of waiting or was ticked off that he told her not to smush Tiger Shroff and so decided she had a head on her shoulders and she wanted to use it!!
