Bachchan Sr must have something against Priyanka Chopra. He put Priyanka Chopra in place on Twitter for mindlessly sending out tweets that contain the F-word. Priyanka sent out a Tweet referencing Drake's Up all night (go look up the lyrics and you'll know what I mean). About an hour later, Sr Bachchan replied to that expressing disbelief. Of course, PC made an lame excuse that it was a retweet which Sr Bachchan didn't let go either. See for yourself.















And for the second time on the same day when Priyanka complained about a hectic schedule, Bachchan Sr in a bid to feel relevant, rubbished her claim with one of his own. Priyanka, what did you do to pis him off? Maybe his inability to change his display picture on Twitter got to him!

Crap-fest alert

Do you remember the 1st 3 seasons of the crap-fest called Swayamvar??
Our national controversy seeker, Ms Rakhi Sawant inaugurated the Swayamvar, made a big hoopla about getting married, then got engaged and after much drama broke up with Elesh Parujanwala.


Rahul Mahajan, in the news for all the wrong reasons was the "prize" in Season 2. A group of desperate women came from far and wide to woo him. One finalist got cold feet towards the end and dissed him in the press after he picked Dimpy Mahajan to be his bride. They got married and less than a year later, they were in the news because of Rahul's assault on Dimpy.


Ratan Rajput jumped at the money and was the bride for Season 3. However she didn't have the natural dramatics of Rakhi nor the hideous laugh of Rahul and she wasn't able to keep up the TRPs. The producers created some amateur drama in a desperate bid for ratings and she finally picked Abhinav Sharma to be her fiance. There is no news of the couple - they've been interestingly silent so far.


And so we are now at Swayamvar 4. Veena Malik, our neighbor who wants to give Rakhi Sawant a run for her money will be the latest to jump on the Swayamvar bandwagon. After holding out for more money keeping us all guessing, Veena finally revealed that she will look for a groom through the Swayamvar process. Yes, we know how well that's gone in the past.

His religion and nationality don’t matter. Love tops the list. It has to be pure, pristine and unconditional. Then comes money. He has to be able to take care of me. Then comes looks. He has to be good looking. His shaksiyat (character) is important. There is a long list actually, but if he has these three qualities, then I can compromise on the others



Searching for a groom on national television
I had my apprehensions initially. I took six months to sign the show. My father was the most excited about the show. He said I may find my Mr Right on this platform. I too thought it was a good idea as I will get to meet guys from all over the globe. And the tasks that are specifically designed by psychologists are such that the boys’ true nature will definitely be revealed. In real life, you can never tell if someone is faking it. I’ve had two relationships and both failed because I was unable to judge them. So I really believe nothing could be more perfect than this platform.

Top Gear Awards 2011

While everyone else was preparing for Tom Cruise's arrival to Mumbai, Kareena and Sameera attended the Top Gear awards on Saturday and interestingly stayed away from each other.

Bad Ka-mmunicaton?

Soha Ali Khan is on a roll.
A few weeks ago Soha confirmed Saif and Kareena will tie the knot in 2012.
Then at the first-look event for Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Kareena said that they will marry after Agent Vinod releases.
And now, Soha went on record to say that there is a tentative date of March 2012.
Are Kareena and Soha not talking to each other?
What's more interesting is though that Kareena isn't refuting any statements. Considering the control freak she is, its a wonder, she's letting Saif's sister do the talking.

Aamir Khan had a baby boy!

Unlike the Bachchans some who must not be named, Aamir Khan managed to keep the birth of his new baby extremely private. Aamir and Kiran had a baby on December 1 through a surrogate mother.
At first, I thought there is no way they did this in India. But I was wrong! They actually had the baby at a Mumbai clinic!


Kiran had a miscarriage in 2009 and Aamir disappeared for a while but AFAIK no one really knew that they were trying through IVF.


Good for them. Maybe the other Bollywooders can take a leaf out of Aamir's book and keep private news private before blaming the media for not respecting their privacy!!

Dev "evergreen" Anand passed away earlier today in London doe to a heart attach. He was 88.
The media exploded with the news of his passing.
Rest in Peace.

Ugh

Pantene signed on Hasbeen Actress Silpa Shetty to be one of their faces. This is her at a recent event for the company.
Her hair looks alright. Her dress is ugly - is that a bump around the midsection?
And WTF is up with her footwear? She couldn't find a decent pair of heels? Its a promotional event, not a walk on the fricking beach!

WTF is she wearing?? The thigh high slit is hot but whats going on with the top of the dress? It looks like she stuck on some pads on her boobs and her dress just slipped off!! The other 3 girls finally made an appearance at the latest promotional event for the film. And Anushka didn't have to worry about spending too much time with Ranveer.

Bachchan Sr is PISSED!

Amitabh Bachchan went on a rampage on Twitter earlier today venting against media reports and others on Twitter. Its mostly about media reports on his darling daughter-in-law. The only happy tweet here is about spending time with the newest addition to the family.
He needs to cool down. The media ain't going to stop taking shots at his family coz he throws a fit on Twitter. Instead, it will get worse.

Friday reviews

The Dirty Picture is out. And the verdict is in!
It looks like everyone loves it! Ekta Kapoor is laughing all the way to the bank on this one!!


Taran Adarsh gave it a 4/5 - It's an exceptional portrayal of an ordinary person's rise from scratch to extraordinary heights and her subsequent fall. Without doubt, it is one of the most comprehensive scripts to come out of the Hindi film industry in 2011. A film with a universal theme and terrific mass connect, it has remarkable potential to set the cash registers ringing for one more valid reason -- entertainment, entertainment and entertainment. 


Komal Nahta gave it a 4/5 - On the whole, The Dirty Picture is a lovely picture. It will work wonders at the box-office and work in both, multiplexes as well as single-screen cinemas. Its dialogues, music, performances and mature handling are its biggest plus points. A sureshot hit! For the genre of film it is, The Dirty Picture will write box-office history!!


Nikhat Kazmi gave it a 4/5 as well and basically praised Vidya Balan in the entire review - The Dirty Picture is essentially Vidya Balan's film, all the way. She gives a towering performance as the protagonist who remains unapologetic about her life till the very end.


Sukanya Verma wasn't as excited and gave it a 3/5. She bashed Emraan and Tushar's presence and gave credit to Vidya for carrying the film through - n terms of creativity, it's a middling effort. But where bravado is concerned, The Dirty Picture kicks ass by virtue of three very strong reasons: Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan. Vidya Balan.

Real? Fake? Real? Fake? Real? Fake?..........

So after she piseed them off, Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgan threw her out of their "inner' circles and  Kangana suddenly realized she had no friends. 
Well, not anymore. She's now latched her self to the Salman team as the brand ambassador of Sohail's Mumbai Heroes cricket team.
She's been spotted getting buddy-buddy with Salman in the past little while but this is official. She is now amongst the ranks of the Sonakshis and Katrinas. I am again going to leave Fatrina out of this. We know how that worked out and I am pretty sure Kangana doesn't want to go that route!




Buzz around town is that Salman's on and off GF Katrina Kaif is doing the Veer Zaara sequel with SRK. Maybe Salamn didn't realize that it is Shah Rukh Khan, not Siddharth Roy Kapoor. But hey, maybe Katrina will be the glue that will bring SRK and Salman together. Although I am of the opinion that their "rivalry" is all to create buzz and keep everyone guessing on the status of their friendship.

I am sure you all remember Fatrina's disaster debut in Veer. Salman was going through a Katrina-withdrawal phase and did that crap of a movie with Katrina's fatter version.
The movie sank without a trace and producer Vijay Galani cried that he was broke. Salman trying to be human decided to substantially cut his fee. 
Turns out Galani may actually have made a profit from the crap-fest. Coz he actually struck a deal with Eros who acquired the film - I am sure they regretted it.
Anyways, Salman threw a bitch-fest and sent Galani a notice for his 15 crore renumeration. Of course Galani washes his hands off. I have a feeling that he-dwarf Salman isn't going to let this one go that easy

More bytes

Papa Roshan's Krishh 2 has finally taken off! Although his son is recovering from back pain by selling Rado watches, the shoot continued with Vivek Oberoi who is just glad that someone still gives a crap about him and gives him work.

With all the hoopla surrounding The Dirty Picture and Ek Main aur Ek Tu, everyone forgot the real-life couple - Ritesh "I can look like Pauly D" Deshmukh and Genelia "I am so cute!" DSouza's Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya.
The snoozefest film is set to release just after Valentine's Day in February 2012. 
Between Ek Main Aur Ek Tu and this one, I pick choose Kareena's 4.5 butt!

Do you remember Shiney Ahuja? He was a promising actor picking up challenging roles and earning awards and praise for his work. Then crap hit the fan when his maid accused him of raping her and spent 2 years in and out of prison trying to prove he didn't. 


Well, he is back now with his new venture Ghost releasing Dec 16 which is aptly captioned "Past never dies, it kills". I am sure Shiney agrees. Apparently Shiney even got paid his regular acting fee for the film. At this point, I think he is happy just getting paid work!!
The film was in the news earlier this year when Sayali, Shiney's co-star in the film accused Shiney of being inappropriate with her. Of course, she was forced to retracted her statement saying it wasn't her that made it.

In other news, due to Rajinikanth's health, the makers of Rana have decided to postpone the film. They might as well shelve the project - I don't think anyone will be surprised. And with Rana indefinitely postponed (read shelved), Deepika has plenty of time to twiddle her thumbs before she joins ex-lover boy Ranbeer for Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

The film makers also have chosen to keep their cast in the dark on the fate of the film. Either that or Deepika is in denial because when contacted she claimed to have no idea about the film itself.

While Vidya is sexing up everyone present at The Dirty Picture promotions to drum up publicity for the movie, Ekta "I love ugly clothing" Kapoor and Emraan "I am relevant" Hashmi went a more conservative route and prayed at  Ajmer Shareef for the success of their latest.


They don't look too happy to be there, But then again, I would be crabby too if there was a hoard of people trying to protect me from another hoard of people.

Smart moves

Nargis Fakhri is a smart girl! And she seems to be cured of her verbal diarrhea!
After being painted by Brian Olsen, Nargis now wants to be Salman Khan's muse. Duckface knows it pays to be part of the Salman camp. Look what it did for Katrina Kaif's career. Lets not forget Sonakshi Sinha either - her debut in Dabanng earned her a few awards.
Of course, Salman's magic touch didn't work with Fatrina Zarine Khan. Dunno what happened there.

Passing the buck

I liked Imran Khan. I thought he was a teeny bit better than other actors. I was with him when he made the argument that if you are old enough to get married or to vote, you should be old enough to drink.


Then he goes and says something like this - 
Bollywood has time and again made films on topics which are socially relevant and which help in the betterment of the society. Revathy's 'Phir Milenge' addressed the topic of AIDS awareness and HIV. However, it is not our duty to educate people. We are there to entertain. We do take up causes but it is not our responsibility. It is the responsibility of the government, people in charge who should do the needful


All talk and passing the buck when it comes to for action.
Imran seems to think that only the higher ups in the government can make a difference. 
The reality though is that everyone needs to be aware and spread awareness on HIV and AIDS, not just Bollywood and/or the government. 
For him to expect that he can go ahead and talk about social causes and issues but then conveniently put the blame on other parties is stupid.

Ha! It looks like Karan Johar read THIS because he now denies that Ek Main Aur Ek Tu is nothing like What happens in Vegas. 

From tubby himself - 
The fact that they get married in Vegas is only an aspect of the movie and not the entire movie. When you see the film in February, the fact will unveil itself that there is not a single note or point of similarity between the two films. They are totally different movies.


Only time will tell. We shall see.

She looks alright - not too spectacular. There is too much black going on in this picture. They should have added some color. A little more gold accessorizing, black nail paint on her fingernails and a little more light on her face would have done it.

Have you seen his teeth? They've gotten all rotten and discolored with all the cancer sticks he's been puffing.
They might as well have hired Ajay Devgan!
