Zee Cine Awards 2012 update

The Zee Cine Awards were held in Macau yesterday. SRK and his darling Priyanka hosted the event. And Mrs SRK showed her displeasure at PC's friendship with SRK yet again when she ignored PC at the rehearsals for the event.
So the story is that SRK and PC were practicing on stage in Macau and the dumbass who thinks Gauri is a better actress and dancer than the actresses of today Shiamak Davar was on stage directing the dancers. Gauri came up to him to say hello. And seeing the two of them chat, PC went up to Gauri and said hello.
Gauri looked through her like she didn't exist and continued talking to Shiamak. Of course, PC took the hint and went back to dancing. And SRK smartly stayed out of all this.
It gets worse for them - maybe they should take a break from working with each other - then news may die down - if they are innocent as they claim they are!


Here are the winners of the popular awards - lets see if the predictions I made here came true!

• Song of the year - Yup, I called it - Chammak Challo wins it
• Best Director - Clearly I didn't see this one coming and was completely off coz Rockstar won it!
• Best Film - Again, Rockstar took home this award in the Viewer Choice category. The Dirty Picture won the critics award.
• Best Actor (Female) - This one was a no-brainer - Vidya Balan is going to rule the award shows this year
• Best Actor (Male) - SRK won it unfortunately - for his cocky nonsense in Don 2. However Ranbir won this award for Rockstar in the Viewer Choice category. And thats the one that matters because SRK can't possibly bribe the entire world!
• International Icon (male) - Farhan Akhtar won this one - apparently he is an icon of some sort. I don't see it.
• International Icon (female) - Katrina Kaif took home this award. Ms Barbie is international after all!!

Grudges

Wow! Ameesha Patel holds a serious grudge against...well, pretty much the entire lot of actors these days.
Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha debuted together in Kaho Naa Pyaa Hai and while the film did wonders for Hrithik's career, no one really cared about Ameesha's. Ameesha clearly blames Papa Roshan for her miserable launch in a recent interview -
I was not a filmy kid and I came around the time when all the star kids including Kareena and Hrithik were being launched.
I had to crawl while they were already running. I am still from outside and I don't have a godfather.


She conveniently forgets Vikram Bhatt with whom she had a LONG relationship and even moved in with him after fighting with her parents.
I guess even Vikram didn't want to recommend her to anyone!


And then she takes a CLEAR shot at Katrina Kaif and Shilpa. I guess she won't be signing Katrina for any of her films with her "partner" Kuunal Goomer! I did not even have a filmy boyfriend to push me for roles. No Salman was my boyfriend, no Akshay Kumar, none of them.


Having a filmy background doesn't always work, Ameesha. Remember, what hapenned to your brother? Oh thats right, his career sank faster than yours!!


Ameesha does have a really good sense of humor though coz she did say she was going to act in all her home ventures because - 
I am young, pretty and a good actress


Ha! Good luck to Kunal and you, darling. I have a feeling that after the first 2 flops, Kunal will lose interest in whatever it is you are offering him to work with you and ask that you stay behind the scenes and not in front where people can actually see, hear and have to tolerate you!!

Johny is in a fix

Macho-boy John Abraham had a half decent 2011. He cheated on and then broke up with his then gf Bipasha for someone with a little more in the brain department and gave his first solo hit ever - Force - although it was TERRIBLE and newcomer Vidhyut received more praise than John.
After the film was released and became a hit, John sat down with producer Vipul Shah and quickly made plans to get cracking on a sequel. Unfortunately, director Nishikanth Kamat decided he wanted a break and decided he wouldn't direct the sequel if Vipul and team wanted to work on it right away. Stuck between the director who gave him a hit and his hero who hasn't had a solo successful film EVER until Force, Vipul decided he wanted to wait for Nishikant to get the actor out of him so he could get back into the director's chair. Of course, this means that Macho-boy will have to wait for his precious sequel. At least he will have Race2 and gayman Johar's Dostana 2 to keep him busy!

The Jodi Breakers team released a video for Bipasha. Thats the name of the song - Bipasha.
And it features......Bipasha!! Surprising!!


Anyways, I watched the song and quite liked it. It sounds good, Bipasha actually looks good and not sleazy (minus the pathetic b00b shake she does at one point)


Then I started humming it and it sounded like something I had heard before. And the more I hummed, I was convinced I had heard it before. So I logged on and looked up the song and sure enough, someone has come to the conclusion I had much earlier. It sounds like Beyonce and Shakira's beautiful liar!!! And some of the steps (the hip stuff) looks like its been ripped from the song as well!!!


Of course Shakira and Beyonce are MUCH hotter and definitely better dancers. But I gotta admit Bipasha does look good in the song.

RIP

While Lara and Mahesh welcomed their baby daughter earlier today, Times of India film critic Nikhat Kazmi passed away earlier today due to breast cancer. Quite a shock considering her illness wasn't widely known of and she was reviewing films just last week!

Lara Dutta gave birth to a baby girl a few hours ago at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and hubby Mahesh shared his joy on Twitter.
Congratulations, you two! Just don't act up like the Bachchans and let us know what you decide to name the baby soon!!

The Bitter Picture

Last May, Ravi Chandran, the cinematographer for Agneepath decided he was going to quit. He had had enough of the Karans (Johar and Malhotra) and quit the film after 60 days of shooting.
At that time to save face and not to piss of gayman Johar, Ravi insisted that this leave was scheduled because he had another South Indian film to attend to and that there was no dispute which led to his departure.

Flash-forward to Jan 2012.
A week before the film's release, Ravi has been labeled as an "Additional Photographer" for the film! He sot for the film for 60 DAYS and thats what he got???
Anyways, Ravi found out and decided to throw political correctness out the window. Seems like he is pissed more with Malhotra than Johar cos he's now changed his tune to say - 

We had differences of opinion, that's all. I was uncomfortable on the sets, so we parted ways.
Malhotra has very strong ideas on how to make a film. He works in a certain way, which did not agree with me. I couldn't handle it and so I chose to leave. I'd rather work in films where the director and I share the same vision.
Johar wasn't even in the country when I walked out. He and I are still friends. And I'd like to work with him when he wants me to.


His publicist must have walked in and given him a death-look cos then he hastily added - 
Please don't write anything that would hurt my relationship with Karan Johar or Karan Malhotra. They're my friends.


The damage is done, Ravi. Coz Gayman Johar got wind of this interview so he snapped on Twitter. Hopefully your making-up skills are better than putting your foot-in-the-mouth skills!!

Love at the gym

So John Abraham and his chica Priya have been in the news with everyone guessing - have they? haven't they?
Tied the knot, people!!
While some "sources" say they have, others say they haven't.
However, Bipasha's people a friend has now come forward and blabbed to the media on how Johny boy and his new squeeze first met - they were gym buddies!! 
So Priya caught John's eye in Dec 2010 at a gym where Bipasha, John and Priya  worked out. They exchanged pleasantries every once in a while and John liked what he saw.
Bipasha probably saw Johny boy slipping away and she told him to marry her. And John said - Ummmmmmm...
Sooooo, Bipasha bailed on him and Johny welcomed Priya with open arms. 
Of course Bipasha had her share of welcoming open arms to run into as well - thats what Rana, Shahid and Josh were for. Remember?
They could make a movie out of their saga!!

Bits and Bytes - Sunny Leone confirmed for Jism2 and Riteish-Genelia have confirmed wedding dates

Its official!! After a lot of beating around the bush and trying to create suspense around the leading lady of their next erotica, Mahesh Bhatt and company announced earlier today that Sunny Leone will be the leading lady of Jism2. Sunny is apparently super excited that she will be probably showing less skin on camera than she has been thus far in all her "work" films! Pooja Bhatt is worried about casting the 2 leading men to star with Sunny in the movie. Better not be Shiney! He's got enough troubles and we don't want to "provoke" him by teaming him up with Sunny!

Apparently, SRK and Salman have both been invited - will be interesting to see which one will make it when.
Anyways, after the wedding, Riteish and Genelia will take off for a month long smush-session honeymoon. 

Hypocritical much?

I feel like we are living in a matrix and we are being fed all unhealthy food through advertising, but there are tastier and healthier foods available here. I've been eating more organic food. I don't miss desserts. I've never had a craving.

Yes I know its not a personal endorsement but for someone who is all about the fitness and eating right and all that, its hypocritical to then go promote his film with a firm that promotes the exact opposite lifestyle.

SRK caught with PC??

So Priyanka and SRK go hoarse denying that they are anything more than 2 colleagues or 2 friends or 2 people who work in the same industry. And then they go and do this.
So last night, Priyanka and SRK were seen coming out of SRK's office in Khar, Mumbai. Nothing unusual about that except it was 3 fricking am!! What type of meeting goes on at 3am in the morning with the two of them ALONE????
If that wasn't bad enough, FirstPost's photographers snapped a few pictures of the pair. And SRK and PC's security people went batshit crazy threatening the paps and threatening to break their cameras and harm them physically. Charming, no?
Apparently PC and SRK were unaware of all the hoopla - they were having a very serious discussion, you see. But after PC's car left, SRK's security team panicked that they had lost the photog and started yelling for people to look for them. Of course, they didn't catch anyone. Otherwise this wouldn't have made it to FirstPost. Here is the link to the actual article.

The first look for Saif and Kareena's ever-delayed, over-budget film Agent Vinod is out and it is disappointing. It looks like a cheap James Bond film knockoff. I hate to say it but I liked the Don2 posters better.

Trashy

If you have a long day with a lot of meetings and the weather is warm, it is very comfortable not to wear panties. I am not saying that I never wear underwear, but sometimes, I prefer or wish I didn’t have to wear any. However, after the fiasco with a photographer, I am very careful and make sure that I do not uncross my legs.

Bollywood celebrates at Screen Awards

So while most of Hollywood celebrated at the Golden Globes where Ricky Gervais became the real-life Michael Scott and spoke what was on everyone else's mind, only the winners of the awards Bollywood showed up to the Colors Screen Awards in Mumbai and had to endure SRK as their host for the evening.

Here is a list of winners. The Dirty Picture clearly dominated. And Ekta showed up in something that was not a bedsheet!! 

Ra.One won the award for Best Special Effects - its so bad in Bollywood that a film that looked like a video game out of the 1990s won the award for Best Special Effects!! Sad!! And his cocky nonsense in Don 2 won him a Best Actor award.
